The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will provide therapeutic treatment services to individuals, groups, families, and significant others in an acute care setting. They will conduct crisis intervention services, participate in psychoeducational support sessions, and offer case management and therapeutic interventions to patients. The counselor will complete all required documentation, including initial assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. Additionally, they will support changes in staffing and scheduling as necessary.
Education/Training Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Licensed in state of practice (LGSW, LPC, LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, LAMFT, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups
- American Red Cross Professional Rescue certification required
- Formal training in aggressive patient management (NCI)
- Compliance with program/unit regulatory requirements and educational obligations
