Job Description/n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring strong PICU and cardiac experience, BLS/PALS certification, and Epic proficiency.

/n /n Responsibilities/n

- Work in a 21-bed Pediatric ICU in a hospital setting providing care to critically ill or injured children
- Patient population includes acute head injuries, critical neuro disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplants, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO
- Day/evening 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:30pm) Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations as needed
- Epic EMR is used; experience required within the past 12 months preferred
- Provide family-centered care alongside a multidisciplinary team in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
- Responsibilities include care for a diverse range of complex and critical diagnoses in pediatric patients
- Orientation typically lasts about one week, with department-specific schedules provided
- Telemetry exam must be passed prior to start; specific criteria and multiple attempts governed by strict guidelines
- Some holiday coverage is required according to unit needs
- First-time travelers are accepted if they have 3 years of experience in a high-acuity hospital or strong Level II experience
- Locals within a 50-mile radius are not eligible for this travel position
- Time-off requests are limited and subject to manager approval

/n /n Requirements/n

- Active Wisconsin or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience in PICU within the last 3 years required
- Strong PICU and general cardiac experience required
- Basic arrhythmia experience required; must pass telemetry test with strict criteria prior to starting
- Epic experience required; within the past 12 months preferred
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assignment location
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
