Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) is needed to provide specialized support within a K-12 school setting in Albemarle, NC. This position is contract-based for the current school year with the potential for renewal and offers a part-time, flexible schedule tailored to candidate availability. The role is designed for an OT with a strong background in school-based practice who can support evaluations and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), without carrying an independent caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to assess student needs.
- Support IEP development and related occupational therapy services.
- Provide supervision and guidance to COTAs in the school environment.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure effective therapy provision.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant educational and therapeutic regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Active state Occupational Therapist license is required.
- Prior experience working as a school-based OT is mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to perform evaluations and supervise COTA staff.
- Strong knowledge of K-12 educational requirements and IEP processes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling.
- Reliable transportation to various school sites within the district.
