Responsibilities
•Estimate project cost and scope utilizing estimating tools and high attention to detail
•Accurately complete estimates within specified timelines in a deadline-driven environment
•Make changes and gain approvals when necessary
•Utilize time management & organizational skills to prioritize multiple daily projects
•Prepare and track documents and progress for customer and project files
•Ensure on-time receipt and accurate ordering of materials
•Track list of ordering needs with ongoing project updates
•Maintain appropriate inventory levels
•Implement and maintain an accurate inventory management system
•Negotiates the lowest pricing of production supplies and materials
•Ensure vendor information is recorded accurately and consistently
•Communicate regularly with Sales and Engineering/Design staff and provide direction or support
•Conduct pertinent phone calls to develop and maintain relationships with vendors and customers
•Communicate issues with the sales team and document communication in customer files
•Understand and ensure job profitability and monitor actual costs relative to estimates
•Schedule and attend customer meetings as needed
•Attend sales meetings to give updates as needed
•Adaptability - The individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Can think on his/her feet and remain calm in high-stress situations
•Safety and Security -The individual observes safety and instills a safety culture in their area of responsibility. Follows security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly
•Technology - Proficient in the use of computers and computer software. Have a working understanding of all business lines and able to learn and adapt quickly to different technologies
•Dependability - Consistently punctual with minimal absences; follows instructions and responds to management direction. Commits to hours of work necessary to complete tasks on time or proposes an alternate solution to management
Qualifications
Education and Experience
•Bachelor's degree in business administration or operations is preferred but not required. Three (3) to five (5) years of direct experience in estimation
Knowledge & Understanding
•Manufacturing processes, human resource processes, quality systems & standards, OSHA compliance, best management practices, develop and track key performance indicators, and business and financial principles
Strategic
•Develops a strong understanding of company goals and direction and is able to contribute to future planning. Sees the overall purpose of each role in the company and is able to determine proper functions and interventions when needed
Mathematical
•Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to interpret financial reports. Analyze performance against business plans and industry benchmarks
Constructive Exchange
•Has the ability to solicit, process, and integrate inputs and ideas from peers and executives. Recognizes areas of conflict or disagreement and deals with them through open and honest dialogue. Effectively provides feedback
Computer Skills
•Proficient in computer operation and Microsoft Office programs, primarily Word
