Responsibilities for Accounting Manager

· Manage, review, and analyze the general ledger of the company and its subsidiaries, including consolidated balance sheet and income statements

· Ensure balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled to support documentation and assist with complex reconciliations

· Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements

· Assist in documenting accounting processes, policies and procedures

· Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness

· Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

· Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions

· Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships

· Develop and maintain great relationships with company leaders to provide an effective and collaborative working environment

· Assist with year-end financial audit activities

Qualifications for Accounting Manager

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.

· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role, (preferably in the Skilled Nursing Industry)

· Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization

· Deadline oriented, attention to detail and has a strong analytical and organizational skills

· Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results

· Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques

· Confident working independently and using initiative to guide through challenges

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
