A financial services firm in New York City is looking to add a new Operations & Portfolio Finance Specialist will to their growing team.

Responsibilities:

The Operations & Portfolio Finance Specialist will:

  • Manage daily OTC, PB, and exchange margin processes (ensuring best execution) while minimizing counterparty exposure risk
  • Achieve financing for long/short credit (and equity) positions across funding products while ensuring capacity, optimal carry, and capital utilized
  • Cash management/optimization for funds/SPVs across currencies, debit/short ratios, and money market investments
  • Manage short borrow process, securing availability, managing rates/stability, communicating changes and short interest related analysis to traders and analysts
  • Monitor cross product funding markets and communicate developments which may impact portfolio positions and help identify opportunities for extracting value
  • Assist in negotiating trading and credit facility agreements, ensuring best execution for portfolio construction/flexibility, covenants, terms, and pricing
  • Manage and monitor covenant tracking of all credit facilities and trading agreements
  • Monitor current and forecast liquidity projections across portfolios/funds and ensure maximum buying power for deployment and liquidity coverage
  • Actively assist in supporting front to back life cycle events of various fixed income assets
  • Processing factor updates, principal and interest distributions, interest shortfalls, etc.
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Finance experience in the Credit space
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Hedge fund and/or related experience in the Banking industry
  • Experience with all different forms of fixed income (Corporate, Sovereign, Structured, Private Credit and Bank Debt)
  • Relevant portfolio finance experience with Margin, Cash, and Liquidity Management of Credit Portfolios key
Desired Skills:
  • S&P's Wall Street Office software experience
  • Experience with SQL and Python
