**Description**

Primary Purpose

Serves as the inventory management primary point of contact for other functional areas including Sales, Customer Care, Category Management, and Operations concerning service levels, inventory availability, and inventory performance. Monitors and analyzes supply chain performance for assigned area/region. Identifies opportunities, issues and/or cause of issues, and engages appropriate functional areas to address and fix.

Plans, manages, coordinates and/or executes larger and more complex projects in areas of Operations, Customers, Supply Chain and Cross Functional processes.

Major Responsibilities

* Communicate inventory performance regularly, and as needed to relevant areas. Proactively communicate performance issues when possible. Continuously communicate policies and processes and further cross-functional understanding

* Works across all channels of Supply Chain to solicit feedback and coordinate efforts to enhance internal and external customer satisfaction.

* Monitors and analyzes inventory service levels and turns for select areas. Identifies issues, suggests solutions, and works with all functional areas to resolve issues and improve performance.

* Develops and sets communication standards

* Collaborates with the inventory team and other functional areas to develop and execute policies and procedures to maximizes supply chain performance

* Responsible for coordinating and managing the processes to support life cycle management such as inventory resets, realignments and more.

* Makes decisions and recommendations that maximizes total economic value for the business

* Understands and demonstrates Essendants Core Values.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required

* Self-starter that can work independently or with a team, with little or no supervision.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management.

* Strong written/verbal communications; Express ideas clearly and persuasively, in oral and written form; along with successful negotiating abilities.

* Excellent organizational skills, with a high attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and be flexible in fast-paced, changing environment.

* Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities with proven skills in problem solving.

* Solid understanding of financial concepts

* Understanding of inventory management techniques, system basics (turns, fill rate). Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.

* Intermediate/Advanced skill with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as reporting/analysis tools such as Hyperion, Power BI, Toad Data Point, etc.

Education and Experience

* Bachelors degree (Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or equivalent experience)

* Minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience

* Demonstrated leadership experience

* Work experience in a multi-facility, wholesaler or distribution, network environment with a high item record count preferred.
