Job Description SummaryIn this challenging position you will benefit from the guidance of experienced operators as you operate CNC equipment including various types and sizes of single spindle or multiple spindles on a variety of operations (drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc.).Job DescriptionBasic QualificationsHigh School Education or GED.3 years machine shop experienceEligibility Requirements:Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.Expert understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.Prior working knowledge of machine shop operations.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC equipmentOperate any type and size of single spindle or multiple spindle on a variety of operations (drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc.)Use all tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages necessary to perform operationsMay set up and operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts and toolsCheck for proper tooling, sharpness, & alignmentWork with close tolerances and fine finishesPerform tool offset and load partsOperate multiple machines simultaneouslyPerform duties on complex prototypes or first-time builds.Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessaryPerform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirementsFrequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. - Planners, Engineering) outside of home department.Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety proceduresParticipate in and lead team initiatives.Must be able to lift 40 - 82lbs (heavier items with assistance).Must be able to push/pull up to 20lbsDesired Qualifications:3-5 years machine shop experience in a manufacturing environmentEducation and/or training in machine shop operationsUnderstanding of CNC and manual machine operationsBasic programming knowledge to include reading editing of programsExperience in a self-directed team environmentLean manufacturing knowledgeThe pay for this position is $23.70/hr. plus $2/hr. for the shift difference. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
