Job SummaryAs a Manufacturing Intern, you will be trained in installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite parts. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience and exposure to the general aviation manufacturing environment. It will aid your learning experiences and enhance your aviation knowledge as a student interested in manufacturing and aviation careers. You will get exposure to a wide variety of real-world work situations and applications. You will play an integral role creating and constructing the world's best-selling general aviation aircraft.This internship is part of the Cirrus JET (Job Education Training) program and will run from September 2024 to January 2025.Application Opens: May 2024Interviews: Early September 2024Start: September 2024End: January 2025 Job Duties: (vary depending on location of internship)Inspecting and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and composite parts.Following engineering drawings and specifications to install, connect, or bond aircraft parts using adhesives, rivets, or threaded fasteners.Ensures fit, clearance, alignment, and functional performance complies with design requirements.Preparing and using fixtures to aid in locating, bonding, or drilling aircraft parts.Routing wire harnesses in accordance with specifications.Work with adhesives, bonding aircraft parts.Welding and machining metal parts.Qualifications:Current High School junior or seniorHave completed a minimum of 2 manufacturing and/or aviation-based coursesMechanically inclined background is preferred, but not required.Must be able to follow and complete work instructions properly.Must be able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment.Must be able to lift varying weight repeatedly.Additional Requirements:Students will work 8-10 hours/ week on 2-3 days/ weekMust be able to work in the AM.Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check.Must be on track to graduate.Must be at least 16 years old at the date of hire.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
