About the Role: We are looking for a Plant Continuous Improvement Champion to join our team. In this role, you will establish local deployment of Gore Fabric's global production system, develop associate Lean capability and drive manufacturing performance improvements across the manufacturing facility. You will support the plant by building capabilities through coaching & mentoring associates in Continuous Improvement methodologies, delivering training & supporting improvement efforts (projects, problem solving, Kaizen & Scrum improvement events). You will be a member of the local operations leadership team and an integral part of working cross-functionally to create the strategies, model the culture, and align the "work" to the Fabrics shared goals and functional objectives that have been cascaded.

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Leadership to identify, coach and establish Gore Fabrics Lean Principles and Key Lean Systems across our manufacturing associate population
  • Partner with Manufacturing leadership to formulate and execute annual plans for Lean transformation and performance improvement in plant
  • Facilitate difficult and often complex problem-solving activities with manufacturing leadership and associate teams
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Manufacturing Lean Specialists
  • Coach leaders and manufacturing associates to establish the desired process-improvement behaviors in our manufacturing operations
  • Establish and manage standard plant metrics and processes to monitor progress and prioritize future improvement work
  • Own, develop and maintain training material for (Plant) as part of CI training framework
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering
  • Six Sigma Green Belt and/or equivalent Lean certification
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in improving Supply Chain and business processes
  • Demonstrated application of Lean Systems (e.g Daily Process Management, Standard Work, 5S Problem solving) and tools (A3, VSM, SMED, Kaizen) to drive manufacturing improvements
  • Strong change leadership skills - ability to help facilitate multiple teams through significant change
  • Actively demonstrates behaviors consistent with Gore's guiding principles and fosters an environment of inclusion, authenticity, and humility
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional projects
  • Ability to travel 5%
Desired Qualifications:
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Experience with Lean implementations in a chemical processing environment
