Job Title: Senior Software Developer Contract-to-Hire Location: Kansas City, MO (Hybrid or Remote Flexibility) Duration: Contract-to-Hire Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join a dynamic engineering technology team supporting a CDB (Common Data Base) project. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python development along with modern front-end and database skills. This role will contribute to designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-quality software solutions supporting critical business and engineering data systems. You will collaborate with architects, cloud engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver high-performing, cloud-ready applications that integrate across a modern data and services ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and maintain software solutions primarily in Python, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability. * Build and enhance front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. * Develop and optimize SQL queries and participate in database schema design to ensure data integrity and efficiency. * Implement robust unit tests and test automation frameworks to support continuous integration and quality assurance. * Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure high code quality and reliability. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software that integrates seamlessly with containerized and cloud-based environments. * Contribute to DevOps initiatives and CI/CD pipelines for streamlined deployment and monitoring. Required Skills & Experience: * 5+ years of professional software development experience. * Strong proficiency in Python (application development, debugging, testing). * Solid experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development. * Skilled in SQL development and relational database design principles. * Hands-on experience with unit testing, test automation, and continuous integration. * Understanding of containerization technologies (such as Docker) and cloud infrastructure concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP). * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
