Job Overview

As a Business Systems Analyst you bring the expertise and acumen to understand complex systems and processes. You embrace and lead change as you work with our business departments and internal/external development resources to improve our business processes and technical solutions.

Responsibilities & Duties

The responsibilities and duties of this job include:

  1. Analyze current business systems and make recommendations for improvement based on the needs of the business.
  2. Work directly with business departments to understand the system needs to support our geographically diverse business.
  3. Assist new departments with onboarding to company systems by providing a gap analysis, defining requirements, and closely working with the team to conduct training and support.
  4. Create requirements and user stories that translate the needs of the business into actionable tasks for the development team.
  5. Oversee implementation projects from beginning to completion.

Essential Functions

  1. The ability to understand systems, both big picture and in-depth details.
  2. Experience in JIRA or similar software project management tool.
  3. You will build relationships with co-workers through working to understand their business, vision, and the problems they need to solve. You will be able to empathize with their challenges and constraints while looking for opportunities to guide and influence them on key areas of delivery performance and improvement.
  4. You will coach and support the stakeholders to ensure the right balance between delivering features and non-functionals, including performance, reliability, operability, maintainability, and technical improvement work.

Reporting Relationship

Role reports to the VDAs Chief Information Officer.

Location

Proximity to the New York City metro area is a plus, but not required. A remote work environment located in the United States is required, with travel as needed.

Candidates must be authorized and available to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Work Environment

This job requires the applicant to have a home office environment for conducting video calls. This role routinely uses computers with reliable network connections and phones.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

Travel

Travel can sometimes be an integral part of the job. You can expect to travel at some point domestically.

Education & Experience

May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Requires 2-4 years of related experience.
