Description

Job Purpose: The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor. This role involves managing production goals, optimizing operators' time management, implementing, and maintaining 5S principles, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The Operations Supervisor will lead a team of operators to achieve efficiency, quality, and safety targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Goals:
•Plan, coordinate, and supervise production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
•Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure on-time delivery of products.
•Track and report production performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and address any production-related issues.

2. Operators Time Management:
•Develop and maintain work schedules for operators, ensuring optimal staffing levels to meet production demands.
•Monitor and manage operators' attendance, breaks, and overtime to maximize productivity.
•Provide guidance and training to operators on efficient work practices and time management techniques.
•Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to operators to improve their efficiency and productivity.

3. 5S Implementation:
•Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) on the production floor.
•Conduct regular 5S audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
•Train and engage operators in 5S principles and practices to promote a culture of organization and cleanliness.
•Develop and update 5S documentation and standards as needed.

4. Safety:
•Ensure all production activities comply with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
•Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any hazards or non-compliance issues promptly.
•Lead safety training sessions and drills to educate operators on best practices and emergency procedures.
•Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
•Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
•Strong understanding of production processes, time management, 5S methodology, and safety regulations.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
•Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
•Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
As an Operations Supervisor with 5S Safety Experience, you will need to meet certain physical job requirements to excel in this role. These include the capability to stand and navigate the production floor for extended periods and the occasional need to lift to 50lb. Your role will demand physical agility for
inspecting and overseeing production processes to ensure safety and maintain quality standards.

You should be ready to respond promptly to any emergencies or safety concerns that may arise. Additionally, the role may involve exposure to specific environmental conditions like noise, heat, or other factors depending on the industry, making adaptability to such conditions crucial. This is primarily a
Supervisory position with the employee working in both an office and a production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk, or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Working Conditions:
•Full-time position, typically requiring 40+ hours per week.
•May require occasional weekend or evening shifts to meet production goals.
