Position SummaryOur team is seeking a mechanical engineer to strengthen our multi-disciplinary team working on projects related to large marine systems. Innovation and technical problem solving will be a major part of your position along with the ability to work productively with a diverse team of engineers and business co-workers.Responsibilities:Create detailed designs for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirementsParticipate in the creation of prototypes and conduct tests to validate design assumptions and ensure functionalityEvaluate and select appropriate fluid power component (valves, actuators, controllers, etc.) to meet system requirementsPrepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports and system schematics and diagramsIdentify and resolve engineering issues that arise during the design, fabrication, and testing of prototype systemsParticipate during the entire design phase and collaborate actively with the engineering team to find the best solutionsTo develop calculation tools & systemsTo advise designers in technical mattersInterface with clients and internal team for general project management dutiesRequired Qualifications:Master's or Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, or relevant experience 2+ years of experience of mechanical design in SolidWorks5-10 years of relevant hydraulic or pneumatic system design experienceExcellent organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality Desired Qualifications:Knowledge of industrial controllers (PLCs, ECUs, remote IO, ect.)Experience programming industrial controllers and user interfacesKnowledge of marine systemsExperience coordinating fabrication efforts with external vendorsAble to understand and work with offshore standards (DNV, ABS, CCS, BV etc)Good communication and presentation skillsExperience assembling and testing of large prototype systemsLocation:Greater Boston, Massachusetts based, with hybrid/in-person flexibilityDue to the nature of our business and information associated with this position, interested candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Resident.Triton Systems is a U.S. Government contractor, therefore we are required to gather applicant information for Government reporting purposes.
