General Summary:

The HR Generalist will assist in the daily operations of the HR department, managing tasks such as recruitment, benefits administration, policy enforcement, and employee relations. Strong communication skills, confidentiality, and collaboration are crucial for success in this role. This position requires proactive involvement in time-sensitive and confidential processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, terminations and monthly carrier invoice reconciliation.
  2. Assist in the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and conducting background/reference checks.
  3. Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities, ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
  4. Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including safety and OSHA requirements as well as regulations set forth by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI).
  5. Utilize the Paylocity HRIS system for employee time & attendance, data management, payroll processing, and reporting.
  6. Serve as the HR representative on safety committees and provide expertise on OSHA safety regulations.
  7. Provide support and assistance to employees on HR-related matters, including policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and other employee relations issues.
  8. Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  9. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  10. Support HR Manager and Executive Leadership team with special projects and initiatives as assigned.

In office work schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-4:30 pm & Friday 8:00 am-3:00 pm

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in human resources roles, with a focus on HR generalist functions.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.


Salary Description

$20 - $25 hourly position
