POSITION TITLE:FLEET Coordinator
STATUS:FULL TIME, NON-EXEMPT
SUPERVISOR:MAINTENANCE MANAGER

SCOPE OF POSITION:
The primary functions of the Fleet Coordinator position is to maintain all TSA vehicles in safe working order, drive for various campus programs, and provide support to the ministry mission, with the addition of custodial tasks. All responsibilities are under the supervision of the Maintenance Department in coordination with Corps Officers, who will monitor for accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures of The Salvation Army.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferably will have an A.A. degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of vehicle operations, general maintenance, and upkeep
- Knowledge of maintaining a healthy and sanitary work environment
- Knowledge of Salvation Army programs, policies, procedures, ministry, and mission is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be self-motivated in a fast paced environment and be able to meet deadlines
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, with emphasis on effectively working in a team environment
- Ability to de-escalate issues with professionalism
- Experience and willingness to communicate and work with staff and residents with diverse backgrounds
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a Motor Vehicle Records check in compliance with The Salvation Army's policy
- Must be able to make decisions based on policies and procedures manual
- Flexible with schedule and working hours; willingness to abide by Salvation Army's drug and alcohol policy
- Communicate with staff and Officers effectively at written and orally at all levels
- Follow contact procedures for Salvation Army staff and local authorities should the situation require
- Have (or obtain within 30 days of employment) First Aid & CPR and Blood-borne Pathogens class
- Complete Salvation Army child safety training
- Ability to maintain visual surveillance of the premises
- Understand mandatory reporting requirements and laws pertaining to vulnerable adults and children
- Handle confidential client information in compliance with Salvation Army policies/procedures
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); learn related technical skills
- Fleet Maintenance/Custodial
- Complete daily safety check of vehicles prior to operation
- Participate in staff meetings as requested
- Observe and train others on all safety rules and regulations
- Prepare/maintain driver logs, maintenance records, and TSA vehicle files; evaluate for accuracy
- Schedule the washing of all vehicles so that they are clean and presentable
- Refuel all vehicles so that they are ready for scheduled trips
- Notify supervisor of all damages and/or maintenance needs for each vehicle
- Coordinate Service Response for vehicles that are disabled or involved in accidents
- Complete periodic comprehensive vehicle inspections on all DOT registered vehicles
- Provide orientation to TSA staff and volunteer drivers of Salvation Army vehicles
- Schedule regular maintenance (i.e., oil changes, tire rotations) and repairs for all vehicles
- Keep current with all Salvation Army Fleet Safety Training requirements
- Other duties, as assigned
- Driver
- Driver for Youth Program activities as needed
- Follow safety protocols to ensure the safety of all passengers during and after trips in the vehicles
- Maintain good order among passengers
- Follow all policies regarding the discipline/safety of passengers when being transported
- Plan/follow best routes for field trips and participant pick-ups
- Assist with transportation for events, Camp Gifford, promotions, etc.
- Assist with loading/unloading of all passengers
- Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, automobile doors, and reach overhead
- Lift and carry 40 pounds on a regular basis (example: moving boxes of files, paper, etc.)
COVID-19:
"The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations relative to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff, if required. The Salvation Army will consider requests for exemptions from any such requirements on either religious or medical grounds."
Once a conditional offer has been made and then accepted by the applicant, The Salvation Army may then ask specific questions about vaccination status, if applicable. If the applicant requests an exemption, then processes described in this summary should be followed.

Health Insurance: Low bi-weekly premiums for employee-only coverage, Kaiser HMO for those residing in a Kaiser service area, Anthem EPO/PPO is available for those residing outside a Kaiser service area. Life and Voluntary Options. An employer-paid life insurance policy covers employees. Voluntary supplemental life, short-term and long-term disability plans are available.
Retirement Plans: Employer-funded Money Purchase Pension Plan (Defined Contribution Plan) 50% vested at five years eligible service time. Plus, an employee-funded voluntary 403(b) option.
Parental Leave: The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events.
Sick Leave: 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months' service time.
Paid Vacation:
- Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions
- Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions
- Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months' service time
Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
