Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Summary:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will play a crucial role in delivering clinical and occupational health services to colleagues within their regulated scope of practice. This position involves overseeing various medical operations, providing patient care, conducting case management, and supporting health promotion initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates CW clinical operations, including medical surveillance, OSHA recordkeeping, facility operations and patient care activities such as triage, counseling, patient education, sick or emergency visits, first aid, and other activities as needed
Provides preventive medicine and wellness services/counseling; supports site health promotion and disease prevention programs
Performs Disability and Workers’ Compensations RTW case management and other case management functions as deemed necessary
Documents patient data in paper and electronic medical database(s), as applicable per standard protocols
Oversite as the site’s Principal Investigator for Groton’s Research Support Program
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in nursing with APRN Board Certification
Connecticut license required
Must be CPR certified
Must possess current malpractice insurance
COHN-S preferred
A minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a CW professional
Demonstrates experience in acute episodic care, wellness care and counseling of adults
Proficient in the use of electronic medical record keeping systems desirable
Proficient in the follow technical competencies; Knowledge of CW Regulations:
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Worker’s Compensation
OSHA, may include recordkeeping
Americans with Disability Act (ADA), in United States
Family Medical Leave Act
CLIA
Federal, state, or local public health regulations
Pfizer Human Resources policies and procedures
Proficient in the following technical competencies related to risk avoidance/minimization/control:
Diagnosis and treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses
Preventive care, immunizations
Diagnosis and treatment of non-occupational cases
Universal precautions
Wellness programs
Ergonomics
Employee Assistance Programs
Clinical procedures
Case Management
Training on appropriate (e.g., site-specific) CW procedures, practices, policies, concepts
Rate/Location:
$50 - $54 per hour
