Job Requisition #: Job Description: This position will report directly to the VP of Global Tax, is a critical member of the Tax Leadership Team, and requires significant interaction across the Finance organization and external service providers. The Director of Federal Tax will be responsible for the department's day-to-day tax operations. Responsibilities include: Leading a team of tax professionals in the execution of Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740); U.S. Federal and State tax compliance activities, including U.S. International tax compliance; and Federal and State tax planning and tax controversies. Providing support to other areas of the department such as US International tax planning. Driving the timely completion of the Federal and State tax compliance and related aspects of the tax provision. Identifying and executing process improvements. Developing less experienced members of the department. This position offers an excellent leadership and career development opportunity. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead a group of tax professionals to timely deliver accurate quarterly and annual global tax provisions, in accordance with ASC 740: Ensure tax provision adheres to established Sarbanes Oxley 404 internal controls. Provide technical expertise regarding ASC 740 matters such as impairments and M&A transactions, and advise senior management on the implications of these transactions. Maintain supporting documentation for effective tax rate reconciliations, deferred tax calculations, income taxes payable, uncertain tax positions, and tax account reconciliations. Coordinate with and assist the Director of Tax Reporting with audit committee and/or board slide presentations. Lead a group of tax professionals in the planning and execution of Federal, State and Local income tax return preparation: Ensure all federal and state compliance requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner. Completion of all tax return related analysis and supporting documentation. Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax estimates and extensions. Manage outside providers completing various projects such as R&D tax credit study. Lead in the continuous improvement of tax compliance processes, partnering with the Director of Tax Reporting. Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of the Company: Develop efficient relationships with external financial statement auditors. Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, Human Resources, the Business Service Center, Business Units, and other teams as necessary to align data flow requirements that effectively meet global reporting and compliance timelines and requirements. Actively manage co-sourcing and outsourcing arrangements with external service providers. Develop trusted and transparent associations with IRS and state tax auditors. Build strong advisory relationship with VP Global Tax. Manage and oversee all tax controversy matters and provide audit defense strategies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
