Sterilization Technician

Duties

• Oversee inventory and distribution of equipment and supplies
• Inspect, disassemble, sort, clean, and process reusable instrumentation and equipment
• Diagnose problems, replaces or repairs parts, make process adjustments
• Maintain current training status on all applicable standard operating procedures
• Responsible for cleanliness of department and all processing equipment
• Unload supplies, ensuring items are not compromised and stored in correct location according to tracking system storage locations
• Support implementation of new technology for process execution and/or analysis
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to stressful situations
• Knowledge of OSHA and state regulations
• Knowledge of the English language - composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software)
• Ability to instill trust from the doctors, co-workers, and patients
• Ability to work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and accept constructive criticism
• Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently
• Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least 1 year of dental assisting experience is required (orthodontics preferred)
• be self-motivated, organized, and have a positive attitude
• possess great understanding of dental terminology
• have excellent communication and written skills
• have excellent public relations skills
• work well with patients and team
• be experienced in delivering high-level customer service
• Committed to the position arriving on time daily and staying late as needed

Salary Description
