Position Roles and Responsibilities
The Finance Associate is responsible for the daily accounts payable and receivable operations as well as general school compliance task. S/he will cultivate sharing and collaboration within the community and work to build a scalable and efficient
finance/operational
infrastructure, providing exceptional service and support to our school, ensuring their continued fiscal/operational success, and working to support the schools mission and our high expectations for all.
Responsibilities of the Finance Associate include, but are not limited to:
Business Operations:
Work alongside our finance and operations team to drive annual priorities for the School
Manage an online library of
documents/resources
for the school finance/ops team
Purchase school supplies/resources in compliance with fiscal procedures
Fiscal Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Title I/II/III and other federal funds
Ensures Food Service compliance and claims in accordance with National School Lunch Reimbursement Program (NSLP) requirements
Oversee support on program budgeting, fiscal compliance, grant compliance, and reporting.
Grants Management
generate grants claims and reporting documentation
Purchasing & Receivables:
Works with the operations team to facilitate purchases while ensuring cost-savings, abiding by internal, state, and federal purchasing laws.
Reconcile credit/debit purchases and accounts receivable
Generate and distribute Purchase Orders
Data input into accounting system
HR Compliance:
With the assistance of the back-office and Director of Finance & Compliance, ensure school-wide compliance with health and safety laws, and all federal and state workplace regulations.
Work alongside back office to assist with employee onboarding and benefits
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
At least 2 years of experience working in a finance-related position
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders across functional and organizational lines
Exceptional project management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high-quality work in a dynamic environment
Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
Team player capable of working both collaboratively and independently
Strong problem-solving skills
Demonstrated passion for Ambition Preps mission and high standards of excellence
Strong computer skills, including Google Admin, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Innovative, creative, organized and willing to take risks
Ability to take constructive feedback and quickly incorporate feedback
