The Role
The Director of Accounting will be responsible for the management of the Accounting function, monthly and annual financial reporting, control of the group’s financial position, tax exposures and financial transactions/management, ownership and developing group financial processes, and internal controls, and policies.The Director will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers, as well as internal and external auditors, to help improve Guidant’s operational efficiency and aid in their continued growth.
Lines of Reporting
The Director of Accounting will report to the Chief Financial Officer of Guidant Measurement.
The Director of Accounting will oversee five direct reports and five indirect reports.
Key Accountabilities
Oversee the preparation of all necessary financial statements, and ensure that all reporting is accurate and timely
Manage the processing of all accounts payables and receivables, including invoices and payments
Lead team in ERP selection and implementation project; including collaborating with other departments
Lead the effort to establish accounting policy, streamline operating procedures and implement compliance processes
Monitor the accuracy of data and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Analyze data for patterns, trends, and anomalies, and recommend corrective action as necessary
Provide financial guidance and support to executive leaders, and ensure that all financial decisions are in alignment with company’s strategic goals
Display a commitment to people development, ensuring that talent receives mentoring, training, feedback, and development opportunities
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications for the position:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
An active CPA license; preferred
Previous experience in a managerial account’s role including AR, AP, Inventory and General Ledgers
Significant experience in accounting within the Oil & Gas industry
Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements
Strong experience in the preparation and delivering of presentations to senior management internally and externally
Experience with ERP systems or other comparable finance software packages; implementation experience a plus
Dedicated and collaborative team-player; able to thrive in a fast-paced, informal, team-focused environments where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is high
Must be able to respond effectively to demands of a highly visible and varied workload, tight deadlines and changing job priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills & outstanding presentation skills; able to interact effectively across all levels of an organization
High proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Quickbooks
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong evaluation and analytical skills
Highly organized, efficient, and attentive to details
Self-motivated, pro-active, and comfortable fulfilling duties outside purview
Ability to drive change in an effective manner
