Summary

Provides direction in the administration, management, and coordination of financial operations within a specified physician division service line working in close collaboration with the BMG Physician Market CFO and designated Executive Director/Administrator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to setting financial direction, standardization of operations, identification of efficiencies, financial oversight for service line operations, management of physician compensation plan, management of material management and purchasing, management of clinic IT, implementation of performance improvement plans, implementation of productivity/labor cost strategies, and administration of operating plans/goals.

Responsibilities
  • Works for and in collaboration with the BMG Physician Market CFO and designated Executive Director/Administrator regarding all essential functions.
  • Has direct line accountability for entity controller and finance staff, information systems, centralized billing office personnel, data management staff and procurement staffs assigned to the service line.
  • Works collaboratively with respective Executive Director/Administrator and Management Teams to develop goals in alignment with overall strategic Market/System financial direction.
  • Participates in the strategic planning process in collaboration with the BMG Physician Market CFO and Executive Director/Administrator to ensure appropriate financial targets/goals are developed for the service line.
  • Implements operational goals and objectives ensuring alignment with service line business initiatives to meet the prescribed financial and budgetary parameters.
  • Operationalizes integration strategies in areas of financial performance, budgetary accountability, and standardization/consolidation of services.
  • Implements the annual operating plans and programs necessary to meet and support strategic direction established by Executive Directors/Administrators consistent and related to the NEA Baptist Clinic system goals.
  • Provides fiscal oversight in areas of cash management, patient accounting, and managed care contracting.
  • Develops collaborative relationships with BMG Clinic administrative staff to ensure efficiency, integration and standardization of financial practices. Evaluates, recommends and implements "best practices" to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Supports standardization through the consistent application of policies/procedures and legal compliance with all regulatory agencies working with human resources, information systems, compliance, etc.
  • Analyzes financial data so that appropriate financial assumptions can be made for strategic and tactical planning purposes and makes recommendations to BMG Clinic leadership to ensure appropriate financial allocation of resources.
  • Implements work/system processes. Collaborates with BMG Physician Market CFO and Executive Director/Administrator to develop financial goals and reporting systems which review utilization/standardization, resource management, information systems, non-nursing work-load/productivity measures, and skill mix in order to monitor and manage labor costs.
  • Trains, mentors and supports entity finance staff ensuring team has appropriate resources, skills and knowledge to provide financial guidance and meet performance expectations of the facility management team.
  • Prepares Strategic Review Committee pro formas and other appropriate documentation for recruiting approvals.
  • Performs other accountabilities as assigned or directed.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Experience: 5 years progressive, out-come oriented management experience in a physician setting
  • Experience in a medium to large physician clinic environment or hospital system preferred
  • Skills: Knowledge of health care financial issues, trends, legal compliance and managed care contracting.
  • Ability to foster collaborative partnerships with administrative staff and management teams in the implementation and administration program delivery.
