Our client is looking for a driven and highly-motivated Accountant to join their growing Accounting & Finance team

Accountant Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Prepares month-end journal entries
  • Reconciles bank accounts monthly
  • Helps manage accounts receivable collections
  • Completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable
  • Assists in weekly payroll processing
  • Assists in responding to employee inquiries regarding pay and resolve any discrepancies
  • Responds to unemployment claims and verifications of employment requests
  • Time-clock management
  • Gathers necessary account information and documents to perform quarterly/annual audits
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
  • Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned

Accountant Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong data entry, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and with discretion
  • Superior technical/computer skills including Excel and Word
  • Proficient with Quickbooks accounting software

Accountant Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, required
  • At least two years of related experience preferred
