Our Challenge:

As a Senior Java Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with business analysts, traders, and stakeholders to understand and document business requirements for trading and financial systems in the Foreign Exchange (FX) or Capital Markets domain.
  2. Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications, components, and services for trading platforms, algorithmic trading, risk management, and related financial systems.
  3. Implement and optimize real-time, high-performance, and low-latency trading solutions using Java and related technologies.
  4. Integrate with market data feeds, execution platforms, and electronic trading networks using industry-standard protocols and APIs.
  5. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  6. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of trading and financial systems through best practices in Java development, performance tuning, and code optimization.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quants, traders, operations, and compliance, to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet business and regulatory requirements.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in FX trading or capital markets to drive continuous improvement in software solutions.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Masters degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Java Developer with a focus on trading platforms, financial systems, or related applications in the Foreign Exchange (FX) or Capital Markets domain.
  • In-depth knowledge of Java programming language, libraries, frameworks, and related technologies for building robust and efficient software solutions.
  • Understanding of trading concepts, financial instruments, market data, order management, and execution workflows in the context of FX trading or capital markets.
  • Experience with real-time and low-latency systems, messaging protocols, and high-throughput data processing in a trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, performance optimization, and best practices for secure and reliable software development.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a trading or financial services setting.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Familiarity with financial industry standards and protocols such as FIX (Financial Information eXchange) protocol, SWIFT, or FpML (Financial products Markup Language).
  • Knowledge of electronic trading platforms, algorithmic trading strategies, and risk management concepts in FX trading or capital markets.
  • Experience with distributed computing, microservices architecture, and cloud-based solutions in a trading or financial services context.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance considerations in the FX trading or capital markets domain.
