The position reports to the Machining/Welding Supervisor and works closely with the Production and Engineering teams to ensure welding processes are performed in accordance with prints and order specifications. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIESPerform all types of welding, high and low temperature brazing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, torch cutting, plasma cutting, rolling, braking, nibbling, punching, shearing, and sawing of a variety of parts, castings, forgings, fabrications, and subassemblies; may perform maintenance welding and tooling welding when requiredProgram and operate CNC Oxy-Fuel/Plasma TableRepair defective welds, cracks, castings, and fabricationsPerform stress stabilizing on parts processed in welding departmentGrind defects and over-welds, and remove flux to support the quality of all weldsPerform minor machining tasks including layout, pre-drilling, tapping parts for sub-assembliesPerform layout on parts processed through the welding departmentOther duties as assignedKEY QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or certified equivalent. Experience in a variety of welding disciplines including, but not limited to, torch cutting, plasma cutting, rolling, braking, punching, shearing, sawing.Welding certification(s) preferred.Ability to read prints, charts, tables, sketches, and specificationsExperience using forklift, overhead cranes and other lifting devices is helpfulAnalytical thinking and problem-solving capabilityTeamwork approach with excellent communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skillsWORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURSDaily minimum of 8 hours.
