Position Summary:

The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing metal components to create, maintain, or repair metal products and structures. This role may involve producing patterns or fixtures for fabrication, applying coatings, and working with various materials.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Review detailed drawings or specifications to determine job, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Cut, roll, shape, bend, mold, spin, heat, or hammer metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies.
  • Set up and operate hand and machine tools, torches, and welding equipment.
  • Assemble parts and structures by aligning and joining them through welding or bolting.
  • Conduct routine inspections on assigned equipment and report defects or necessary repairs to the supervisor.
  • Follow safety policies to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Opportunity to learn to operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Education or equivalent experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills for the role.
  • Physical capability to handle heavy materials, tools, and machinery.
  • Completion of required training and certification prior to operating any equipment.
  • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when necessary.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in using equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and accurately measure using a tape measure.
  • Capability to pass a weld test.
  • Experience in preparing and applying a shop coat of prime paint is a plus.
  • Flexibility in shifts as work demands.
