Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst position plays a significant role in the Shared Financial Services teams’ responsibility to provide credit and accounting functions for the company. The position reports to the Director, SFS and is responsible for performing various enterprise-wide financial activities including credit risk management, inventory accounting, and other important accounting functions. The ability to successfully handle multiple responsibilities and respond positively to demanding situations is essential to this position. Responsibilities: Support the SFS Director in managing all aspects of the company’s credit risk exposure. Gather, perform, and analyze financial information for new customer account applications, oversee the company’s credit insurance program, and ensure accurate customer master data; Work with the SFS Director to pursue sustainable global alignment with other regions on best practices in business systems and processes in the Order To Cash global process. Work with the O2C Finance team to support the design and implementation of changes to regional business processes and practices as part of the OneSappi structure; Manage the mill inventory reconciliation process, including analysis and assessment of inventory quantity and valuation movements. Review and investigate reconciling items of inventory quantities and calculation of the obsolescence reserves according to Sappi policy; Responsible for a variety of other financial and accounting functions, including tax, compliance and logistics reporting to support the Shared Financial Services function. Performs routine financial analyses, period-end financial cycle closings, and preparation of periodic reporting; Essential Function Responsibilities: 70 % Credit Risk Management 30 % General Accounting Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience demonstrating capabilities to solve problems within a technical work environment (heavily depending on ERP systems). Demonstrated leadership and ability to identify and implement process improvements and to work in a team environment and within all levels of management. Experience in a centralized function is a plus. Possesses knowledge of accounting principles Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills Possesses strong problem-solving skills Goal-oriented, a motivated self-starter, and has excellent organizational skills, sound business skills, and judgment, and can handle multiple tasks Possesses excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and ethically with both internal and external customers required Ability to manage projects to completion Has strong computer skills including the ability to effectively use tools such as Microsoft Office required; experience with SAP is desired Travel: Infrequent travel to the SNA corporate office in Boston as well as other locations may be required.
