Textile waste is a growing global challenge. Syre’s mission is to decarbonize and dewaste textiles, starting with the world's biggest fiber, polyester. By implementing true textile-to-textile recycling at hyperscale, we want to drive the transition from a linear to a circular value chain by putting textile waste to use, over and over again. At Syre we’re paving the way for a greener future, and we’re looking for a skilled and innovative Operations Leader to manage our scale-up facility. As a key member of the operations team, you will play a crucial role in the development and testing of prototypes for new products and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring ideas from concept to reality, ensuring scalability and manufacturability in our evolving scale-up environment. Key tasks and responsibilities Lead the design, development, and testing of prototypes for new products and processes in collaboration with R&D and product development teams Ensure prototypes meet design specifications, performance criteria, and scalability requirements Work closely with engineering and production teams to transition prototypes into scalable production processes Identify and implement improvements to enhance the scalability and efficiency of prototypes Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed and accurate engineering drawings for prototypes Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize designs for manufacturability and scalability Develop and execute testing plans to validate the functionality, durability and performance of prototypes Analyze test data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement design improvements Create comprehensive documentation for prototype designs, including drawings, specifications, and test results Work with the finance team to conduct cost analyses for prototype development, identifying cost-effective solutions without compromising quality We would prefer ifyou have A BA in Engineering or Operations, additional operating certifications are a plus 5 years of experience leading an operations team, preferably in a scale-up or manufacturing environment Demonstrated success in bringing prototypes to scalable production Experience in Safety, Quality and ISO practices Experience with successfullymanaging site P/L, maintenance programs Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and iterate on designs Are fluent in English both orally and in writing (professional English required) You will be reporting into the COO and preferably be located in North Carolina, USA.
