Director Financial Reporting Corporate Accounting

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage the accounting practices and the maintenance of financial records assuring compliance with GAAP, statutory requirements, Corporate policies and SEC regulations.

Maintain or develop, as needed, an effective system of internal control for the safeguarding of the company’s assets and their proper utilization.

Interpret operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the organization and make specific recommendations that will result in cost reduction and profit improvement.

Review work methods and implement techniques to improve productivity, cut costs, improve quality, reduce manpower effort and maintain current practices.

Develop, enhance and implement least-cost financial systems, with effective internal controls and management reporting in place to assure availability of credible operational and financial data to functional and financial management.

Manage accounts payable

Assure effective departmental operation through selection, training, deployment and motivation of staff. Assure duties, responsibility and authority of each Finance staff position is defined and communicated.

Effectively communicate with all levels of functional and financial management.

Act as a contact with the corporation’s independent auditors on matters related to the financial records of the company.

Ensure that all required training is identified for and completed by all direct reports.

Evaluate staffing needs and costs; identifies, hires and promotes individuals with the right skills and competencies necessary to achieve superior results.

Develop a team environment that values diversity and uses various individual’s strengths to the benefit of the team.

Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

Required Skills Required Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience is required. CPA and/or MBA preferred.

Minimum seven years of increasingly responsible management positions within Finance including responsibility for accounting, budgeting, manufacturing, cost accounting with particular emphasis in financial analysis.

Results and profit - orientated with ability to balance other business considerations.

Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems; demonstrated ability to manage use of systems including PC - based packages.

Sound administrative skills, well-developed management and people skills, and strong analytical and reasoning skills.

Participative management style -- advocates team concept.

Proactive supervisory skills.
