Summary

The QTI Group is partnering with a Madison-based company to hire its next Human Resources Generalist. Supporting ~100 employees, the Generalist will serve as the sole HR professional to handle day-to-day HR responsibilities, which include development, implementation, coordination, and administration of all HR-related programs. This includes recruitment support, onboarding, benefits administration, training coordination, supporting workers comp and safety, and overall employee engagement activities.

Location: On-site - east side of Madison, Wisconsin.

Here is what you'll do:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact regarding benefits, training and other HR matters
  • Work closely with Safety Manager to schedule drug screens, administer background checks, workers' compensation reporting, etc.
  • Coordinate and deliver new employee onboarding, including new hire paperwork and introduction employee handbook, systems, and benefits
  • Administer benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including job posting, interview scheduling, putting together offer letters, and some initial phone screens.
  • Schedule and coordinate campus recruiting activities, speaking engagements, and career fairs for high school apprenticeship programs and college campus recruiting.
  • Administer leave programs (e.g., disability leave, bereavement leave)
  • Set up and coordinate training schedule (note: you do not need to deliver training...just schedule and track it)
  • Serve as a back-up to the payroll accountant for payroll processing
Experience desired:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
  • 3 years' of HR administration or HR generalist experience to include benefits administration, recruiting support, safety knowledge and onboarding
  • Knowledge of benefits programs, workers' compensation, leaves of absence, FMLA, unemployment, and COBRA
  • Ability to connect with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Natural curiosity and a desire to learn; not afraid to ask questions and research to get to the right answer
  • Strong attention to detail, discretion, confidentiality, and teamwork skills
