Part-time Event Planner

LHH Recruitment is hiring a Part-time Event Planner for a 3-4 month project for a Client in Kansas City, MO. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating events for internal and external clients including assisting with technical equipment setup, managing the events and serving as the representative for the Company to all Clients. This role will require you to work on-site 15-20 hours/week Monday-Thursday between 5-9pm and Fridays-Saturdays between 8am-5pm. Pay for this role is $20-23/hour based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have at least 1 year or more of event planning experience. Read below for additional details

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Consult with the clients to understand event needs, including staffing, venues, catering, security, and other specialized requirements.
  • Coordinate with staff to plan and develop event schedules, topics, and featured speakers.
  • Ensure events comply with legal, safety, and health regulations, obtaining necessary permits.
  • Oversee the registration process for event participants.
  • Handle all administrative duties associated with the event, including assisting with technical equipment, financial operations and distribution of promotional materials.
  • Help clients as needed during events and serve as main contact for the company.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Event planning experience
  • Availability to work scheduled events Monday-Thursday between 5-9pm and Fridays-Saturdays between 8am-5pm; already schedule Saturday events include: June 8, July 13, July 20, Aug 10th
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
