The Role

As a Part-Time Associate at our Poppy Retail Store, you will play a pivotal role in creating an unforgettable shopping experience for our customers. You'll be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining the store's visual appeal, and ensuring that every visitor leaves with a positive impression of our brand. (Schedule: Saturday 10-8pm and Sunday 11-6pm)

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement and Service:
  • Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm and a friendly attitude.
  • Provide product information, answer questions, and offer flavor recommendations.
  • Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
Sales and Upselling:
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the store's overall revenue.
  • Upsell and cross-sell products to enhance the customer's shopping experience.
  • Maintain a good understanding of product features.
Visual Merchandising:
  • Assist in creating eye-catching displays and visual merchandising.
  • Ensure that the store is organized, clean, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Collaborate with the team to refresh store layout and window displays.
Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and replenish stock on the sales floor.
  • Assist with inventory counts and restocking activities.
  • Report any inventory discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Cash Handling:
  • Accurately process sales transactions.
  • Maintain and follow sales transactions procedures.
  • Assist with EOD sales reporting
Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the store team to achieve collective goals.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Support colleagues during busy periods or staff shortages.


Requirements

Qualifications
Retail experience is a plus
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to work independently
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a tidy and organized store
Basic computer and cash register skills
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed

Physical Demands
Extensive physical exertions which includes but are not limited to:
Standing for extended periods
Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed
Repetitive bending, lifting, and hand/arm movements

Measured Metrics and Review Schedule
Your first review will be 90 days after your start date, then a six-month check-in and a development review annually in January for the duration of your employment. If the results of a review are unsatisfactory, more frequent reviews may be scheduled to monitor improvements. If assigned improvement goals are not reached, a warning schedule may be implemented including the possibility of termination. During each review, your performance and ability to achieve the following metrics will be evaluated.
Meet or exceed weekly sales targets
Ensure the store's visual merchandising is set up and maintained.
Complete weekly stock replenishment activities within 24 hours of stock reaching minimum levels.
Ensure the daily sales transactions are complete and any updates have been made at the end of each shift.
Provide backup support during staff shortages on at least 90% of occasions.
