DevOps Engineer and Systems Administrator

BlueHalo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer and Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of server hardware management, cloud-native technologies, and DevOps practices. You will be responsible for managing server infrastructure, optimizing performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Server Administration: Oversee and manage Dell server hardware and related technologies, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Linux and Windows Server: Administer and troubleshoot Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows server environments.
  • Kubernetes & Container Management: Work with Kubernetes clusters (specifically K3s and RKE2 distributions) for orchestration and management of containerized applications.
  • Automation & Scripting: Leverage Ansible, Python (FastAPI, NinjaAPI, Django), and other tools to automate system configurations, deployments, and maintenance tasks.
  • Database Management: Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including backups, replication, and tuning.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Set up and maintain GitLab CI pipelines, including GitLab runners, Dockerfiles, YAML configurations, and integration with version control systems.
  • Network Protocols: Configure and manage LAN protocols (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMB), ensuring secure and reliable networking.
  • Virtualization: Administer and maintain virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and LXC.
  • Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to resolve issues, improve system performance, and implement best practices.
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Dell server hardware and experience with server installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows server administration, with a solid understanding of both environments.
  • Experience with Django server setup and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, particularly K3s and RKE2 distributions.
  • Familiarity with Rancher and Celery for Kubernetes management.
  • Proficient in Python development (FastAPI, NinjaAPI, Django) and experience in C programming. Strong skills in automation using Ansible.
  • Proven experience managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases.
  • Expertise in setting up and managing GitLab CI pipelines, GitLab runners, Dockerfiles, and YAML configurations.
  • Solid understanding of LAN protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMB).
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies like Hyper-V and LXC.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Active Secret level clearance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native technologies.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools and container-based development environments.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for infrastructure and application deployment.
