Additionally, the Clinical Dietitian administers medical nutrition therapy and provides advice to food service operations for assigned facilities. Provides nutrition care to inpatient cardiac (20 hours/week) and outpatient cardiac clinics (20 hours/week)CORE JOB FUNCTIONS: Plans menus and inspects food to ensure portions adhere to set restrictions and dietary standards.Assesses patients' nutritional status and develops individualized nutritional plans.Relays appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.Assists in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients' care.Triages patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.Documents and reports care in an accurate and timely fashion.Collaborates with development of educational materials.Identifies and accounts for specific ethnic, cultural, and religious needs.Responds to, resolves, and follows-up regarding patient inquiries or concerns.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.CORE QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in relevant fieldBoard Certification with in Specialty Area (Obtained within 1 year of hire)Certification in relevant specialty or fieldMinimum 3 years of clinical experienceThe University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
