Responsibilities:

The P&C Analytics area in Financial Operations is looking for a motivated first line leader to join the team. The software engineering employees on this team are tasked with designing and maintaining solutions to enable deeper and consistent analytics as well as maximizing process efficiencies. A successful candidate in this role will demonstrate a bias towards results with a strong degree of strategy, execution, and personal accountability, and will possess a high degree of insurance, business, and technological acumen.

  • Leads with a customer-first mindset, proactively seeking out new projects and marketing the skills and opportunities of the software engineering team
  • Diligently seeks ways to find efficiencies in team processes and focuses on the highest returns on investment of time and resources
  • Develops and maintains cooperative and influential relationships with upstream business partners (data stewards, technology partners), peer leaders in other areas of the company, and downstream business partners (consumers of the solutions)
  • Applies business acumen and industry expertise, guiding the teams architecture and implementation strategies for business-focused, cloud-based solutions
  • Effectively communicates with team members and others in varying roles throughout the organization, relating complex subjects in understandable terms
  • Maintains a relentless focus in employee development, providing continuous feedback and consistently raising the standards of excellence
  • Anticipates, understands, and advocates for the technical needs of the software engineering team and resolves complex compliance and operational issues as a result
  • Coordinates alignment of Enterprise goals with department goals and facilitates strategic thinking and dialogue with leadership in support of these goals
Qualifications:
  • Ability to strategize, collaborate, and exert influence across multiple departments and levels of leadership
  • Ability to act with pace in an organized, process driven, and Agile mindset
  • Ability to embrace and lead others through change, always focusing on the customers perspective
  • Demonstration of a creative mindset that inspires and engages employees
  • Degree and or direct experience in the field of Computer Science, Statistics, Insurance, or Finance is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading or serving in a software engineering or similar environment is a plus.
