Important Notes:
Our client prefers a local candidate as the candidate must be able to commute to McLean, VA and work onsite three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solutions Architect (Application Architect) with a robust software development background in Java. This is a pure architecture role focused on application architecture, particularly for new product development. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Product and Delivery organizations to assess current capabilities and strategize future builds. The position involves significant involvement in Proof of Concepts (POCs) and is not limited to specific projects but spans across multiple initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Focus: Develop and maintain application architecture, ensuring alignment with business needs and future capabilities.
Collaboration: Work with the Product/Delivery organization and Business Architecture group to understand and meet business requirements.
POCs: Engage extensively in Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate new ideas and technologies.
Documentation: Ensure all architectural artifacts related to the applications are current and reviewed by chief architects, adhering to TOGAF architecture recommendations.
Initiatives: Manage 2-3 simultaneous initiatives, providing architectural solutions across various assignments.
Must-Have Skills:
Java/J2EE: Extensive experience in Java/J2EE development.
Spring Boot: Proficient in using Spring Boot for application development.
Microservices: Strong background in Microservices architecture.
AWS Migration: Experience with general AWS services and migrating applications to AWS.
Architecture Patterns: Knowledge of Solutions architecture design patterns, Microservice architecture, Asynchronous communication patterns, Containers, and APIs.
Qualifications:
Experience: 7-8 years of experience in architecture roles.
Skills: Proven expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS.
Knowledge: Familiarity with TOGAF architecture principles is a plus.
