Detailed Job Description

Our client is hiring for a Civil Engineer with experience working on commercial and multi-family residential projects. This successful individual will serve as a member of a design team, assisting in the coordination of civil designs on site to meet project objectives, schedules, and budgets, while working directly under a licensed Engineer. This is a full time position and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in residential site design, with an emphasis on grading, drainage, stormwater management, paving and permitting.

Description:

+ 3+ years Civil Land Development Design experience

+ Ability to design in AutoCAD

+ Stormwater and Grading Experience

+ Perform engineering tasks in the site/civil engineering field through the development of a working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes.

+ Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while being flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment.

+ Perform site visits, investigation, data collecting, review and interpretation of available site plans, survey mapping and review of agency regulations.

+ engineers with the design of grading, earthwork analysis and stormwater management designs.

+ The successful applicant must possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of site civil design, permitting and construction plan preparation and be proficient in using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D to create design plans and details.

+ Prepare cost estimates and specifications based on design drawings.

+ Preparation of written correspondence including proposals, Site Investigation Reports, Grading and Drainage Reports, paving assessments, and other required reports.

+ Demonstrate the willingness to expand his/her knowledge base via in-house training and/or self-training.

+ Work within a design team to develop Site plans using AutoCAD including grading, green infrastructure, trail/pedestrian facilities, erosion & sediment control plans and details, utility distribution systems, potable water system design, sanitary sewer design, stormwater management system design and associated calculations.

+ Preparation of associated calculations and spreadsheets.

+ Own transportation and a valid driver's license.

Projects:

+ Re-grading areas (micro grading) for HOA - moving land for housing developers such as Toll Brothers

+ Multifamily and residential and some commercial units

Qualifications:

+ BSCE from ABET accredited civil engineering program.

+ EIT certification a plus.

+ 3-6 years site/civil engineering experience with the ability/plan to obtain P.E. license.

+ Must be fluent in English and have strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.

+ Possess the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly and efficiently.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook is needed.

+ Proficient in the use of AutoCAD in the development of site, grading and drainage plans.

+ Demonstrated ability to follow direction in completing design tasks.

+ The ability to work independently and within a team environment.

+ Strong organizational skills and critical thinking abilities necessary.

+ Would like to have work samples if possible for the "grading in AutoCAD"
