Position Summary...What you'll do...Join the EH&S Fire Code Compliance Team to lead the development of fire code compliance related programs for the world's largest retailer. This role is critical as we continue to develop strategies for a first-class compliance program that effectively mitigates fire and regulatory risk. You will support business partners in assessing risk, building corresponding controls, developing training and awareness programs, and assisting our design and engineering teams while taking the lead communicating with our regulatory stakeholders. What you'll bring: A subject matter expert in fire code and fire safety and have a sound understanding of fire system designsExperience leading a team of experts while building strong and trusting relationships with team members and business partnersExperience managing fire related regulatory responses, including negotiating matters with fire marshalsExperience solving complex fire code and fire safety related opportunitiesA risk management related mindset that balances business needs and urgency when managing fire initiativesStrong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and leadership around compliance related updates and concernsExperience working in cross-functional teams within a matrixed environmentProcess-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness What you'll do: Develop strategies for enhancing and driving efficiencies in existing fire code programsLead and coordinate with stakeholders to drive effective implementation of compliance related initiativesEnsure the programs are well-designed, agile and maximize efficienciesDevelop annually and tracking quarterly objectives, KPIs, and other metricsEffectively managing regulatory response initiativesDevelop talent, building a talent pipeline and focusing on an environment allowing everyone to bring their best selves to workUnderstand compliance risks and how to mitigate themEstablish training programs for stakeholders and collaborating with stakeholders to drive implementation of new programsBenchmark industry best practices and aligning compliance programs with the business strategyAnalyze costs and forecasts to incorporate them into business plans and resource planningThe above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
