Position Summary: Hartford HealthCare is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Web Development Manager to join our dynamic Digital Services team within the Information Technology Services (ITS) division. This role will play a crucial part in managing and directing third-party developers responsible for our expanding digital front door ecosystem. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire development lifecycle, aligning with both internal and external stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement across our web properties. Position Responsibilities: Key Areas of Responsibility Leadership and Management: · Manage and direct a team of third-party developers responsible for building and maintaining our digital front door ecosystem, including web properties, mobile apps, and other digital initiatives · Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to define project requirements, establish timelines, and ensure successful project delivery. · Provide guidance and mentorship to the development team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Development Process Management: · Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. · Establish and maintain robust coding standards and best practices to ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability. · Manage the code deployment process, ensuring smooth and efficient transitions into production environments. · Proactively identify and implement process improvements to streamline development workflows and enhance efficiency. Stakeholder Engagement: · Act as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, including marketing, communications, and clinical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals. · Facilitate effective communication channels with external vendors and partners, fostering strong relationships and promoting collaboration. · Present project updates, technical roadmaps, and key performance indicators to stakeholders at various levels within the organization. Project Management & Planning: · Manage, prioritize, scope, and provide timelines and roadmaps for development intake and projects, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with overall strategic goals. · Collaborate with the Digital Services team to develop and implement a comprehensive roadmap for our digital front door ecosystem. · Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new development initiatives, ensuring alignment with budget constraints and strategic priorities. Technical Expertise & Innovation: · Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement within our digital ecosystem. · Identify and recommend process, code optimizations, or new methods to enhance the performance, security, and user experience of our web properties. Perform other related duties as required. Working Relationships: This Job Reports To (Job Title): Director of Digital Services Job Title(s) of HHC positions reporting to this Job: Third-party developers Number-Direct Reports: 1 Number-Indirect Reports: 3 If applicable, describe nature of supervision of any External vendors, contractors, affiliate organizations, etc. Manage and direct a team of third-party developers responsible for building and maintaining our digital front door ecosystem, including web properties, mobile apps, and other digital initiativesQualifications Education · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Or equivalent demonstrated experience and skills. Experience · Minimum: o 5+ years of experience in web development, with a focus of managing large-scale web applications o 3+ years of experience in a people management role · Preferred: o Experience leading and managing a third-party development teams, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management o experience with headless CMS platforms (Contentful, Strapi) o Experience in working in the healthcare industry o Agile Development Methodology experience Licensure, Certification, Registration · Preferred: Some programming language certifications desired, but open to varied technologies. Language Skills · English Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements · Deep understanding of web development technologies, including .NET, WordPress, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). · Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on deadlines. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical skills. · Passion for innovation and a desire to continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies.
