Position Description:

The Warehouse Manager responsible for managing employees, processes and systems related to inventory, order building and loading of products for distribution. Additionally, this position ensures that productivity and accuracy targets are tracked, communicated, posted, and met within industry and company standards. This position exercises initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, mission and policies of Doll Distributing LLC; State of Iowa laws and regulations governing the beer industry; and brewery/supplier requirements.

Essential Functions:
  • Leads, teaches, and coaches warehouse staff, including redemption team, seasonal and temporary workers
  • Motivates, organizes, and encourages teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met
  • Monitors employee's performance up to and including evaluations, documented corrective actions, performance improvement plans and termination
  • Willingness to assist warehouse employees as needed to ensure daily tasks are completed.
  • Ability to delegate tasks to capable warehouse employees
  • Communicates effectively with other departments regarding inventory and/or delivery issues
  • Analyzes trailer building and looks for and communicates opportunities for improvement with the Operations Manager
  • Performs accident investigations, reporting, follow-up and recommendations
  • Maintains standard of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
  • Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal/external customer.
  • Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner
  • Compliance with all company and equipment safety regulations
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Any other work as assigned
  • Assists in the recruitment process for open positions
Non Essential Functions:
  • May assist with pick line planning and slotting
  • Fill same day orders as necessary
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn/manage functions of Vermont Information Processing (VIP) software
  • Hands on experience in warehouse management preferably in beverage distribution
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and related reports
  • Mechanical aptitude to recognize necessary repairs on warehouse and delivery equipment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work functions
Qualifications:
  • 19 years of age or older
  • High School or GED (General Education Diploma) required
  • 3-5 years of warehouse distribution experience required
  • 3+ years of warehouse management experience desired
  • Proven experience in leading teams to more productive performance while keeping team on task
  • Experience in leading process improvement projects
  • Mechanically inclined to assist with
  • Ability to obtain certification in forklift, pallet jack and layer pick operations.
  • Desire/ability to keep abreast of new technology and designs in warehouse operations
Working Conditions:
  • Temperature/Climate
    • This position will spend 95% of the shift in a climate-controlled environment and 5% of the shift in an outdoor environment
  • Safety Considerations
    • This position may drive forklift trucks, rider pallet jacks, other cleaning equipment and company vehicles.
  • Personal Protective Equipment necessary
    • Steel-toed boots/shoes with skid-proof soles are required
  • Physical/Mental Organizational Capabilities
    • The individual in this role must possess the ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, and climb stairs on a frequent basis. Must have the ability to safely lift a minimum of 24lbs. without assistance, waist level, waist to should level, shoulder level to overhead. Must have ability to push/pull/lift a maximum of 165 lbs. with appropriate equipment. Requires significant demands on these physical requirements through entire work shift with tasks performed in all weather conditions. The ability to pay attention to detail, problem solve, troubleshoot, and make decisions is required.
