The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for executing departmental policies, procedures, and general accounting functions on a Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") basis. You will play a major role in assisting senior Accounting Specialists and the Controller with day-to-day tasks and procedures associated with payroll processing. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Account Managers with client balances, preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgersProcess company disbursements and actively oversee banking transactionsPerform month-end and year-end closings and account analysis following tight deadlinesComplete state and federal filings, and prepare for audit processesImplement internal financial controls and proceduresReceive, approve, code, and investigate client accounts payable invoicesAssist with tax research and corresponding state tax questionsCompile and prepare appropriate schedules, statements, and reports of a complex nature as requestedProcess North Risk Partners insurance company direct bill commission statementsSECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES:

Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by managementRequirements

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting2-5 years of accounting work experienceStrong understanding of accounting principlesDemonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and communication skillsStrong attention to detail with ability to work in a fast-paced environmentBEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS:
