As a Senior Logistics Coordinator, you will excel in managing complex logistics operations with minimal supervision. Your role includes resolving transportation and customer-related issues, supervising logistics staff, and optimizing logistics processes to ensure cost-effective and efficient delivery solutions. You will collaborate closely with terminal managers, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction showcasing exceptional multitasking abilities, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role requires leadership qualities and expertise in transportation logistics, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

The Senior Logistics Coordinator will excel by efficiently managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision. Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills will enable the individual to effectively coordinate fuel operations, maintain inventory systems, and ensure timely delivery schedules. A strong understanding of industry regulations and safety protocols is essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Mon - Fri 10am - 7pm. Will be responsible for shift coverage during PTO and call outs.

This is an onsite role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Problem Resolution: Address transportation, logistics system, and customer/driver issues promptly and effectively.
  • Team Supervision: Provide leadership and supervision to logistics coordinators and specialists, ensuring efficient workflow and performance.
  • Effective Decision-Making: Effective decision-making is paramount, guiding swift and accurate responses to dynamic situations. The ability to assess information quickly and prioritize actions to ensure efficient and timely resolutions.
  • Logistics Operations Management: Direct and coordinate logistics operations, including driver scheduling, truck coordination, and customer demand fulfillment.
  • Terminal Efficiency: Collaborate with terminal managers to improve operational efficiency and cultivate sustainable relationships with supply terminals.
  • Performance Oversight: Ensure operational objectives related to cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness are met.
  • 3rd Party Carrier Management: Coordinate with third-party partners to assign order and verify carrier acceptance.
  • Supply Coordination: Work with our WKC Supply team on the best possible lift points and suppliers to maximize the revenue on an order.
  • Financial Accountability: Take ownership of the profit and loss for each truck and delivery, ensuring financial accountability.
  • Service Issue Resolution: Anticipate service issues and implement recovery plans to minimize disruptions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor processes and communications to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, including DOT and OSHA rules.
  • Inter Department Analytics: Coordinate analytics with various departments and functions to support operational efficiency.
  • Performance Metrics: Drive operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize transport operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate cross-functional planning and scheduling for transport in all regional areas.
  • Carrier Management: Participate in carrier management processes such as selection, qualification, and performance evaluation.
  • Process Improvement: Plan and implement improvements to logistics systems or processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze logistics aspects to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of achieving goals.
  • Policy Development: Recommend and implement policies or procedures for logistics activities to streamline operations.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate transportation information to sales associates, management, customers, and suppliers.
  • Technology Integration: Actively participate in projects to upgrade or implement improved technology for logistics operations.
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate with key customers to ensure delivery meets price expectations and maintain strong relationships.
  • Compliance Assurance: Work closely with Fleet Manager and Safety Manager to ensure driver and truck compliance with safety regulations.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Fulfill other related duties, tasks, requests, and directives issued by management as required.

  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the oil/fuel industry and its logistics processes.
  • Experience: Prior experience as a petroleum dispatcher is required, and DOT and hazardous training and experience are essential.
