About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller who will oversee the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all 15 books of business. The Controller role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management, accounting, team leadership, and a passion for working in the senior living industry. The Controller will report to the Vice President of Finance and Administration.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Accounting: Manage general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and accounts payable.
Cash Management: Maintain treasury relationship for the organization
Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making and drive business performance.
Audit and Tax Coordination: Coordinate and manage external audits and tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Process Improvement: Review all current financial processes and create SOP's to create efficiencies within the department.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including GAAP and company policy.
Internal Controls:Develop and maintain robust internal control to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's growth and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CMA preferred
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in the senior living or healthcare industry.
Proven experience managing multiple books of business.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. Eldermark software experience a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

For the Controller position, we offer competitive compensation & full benefits package for full-time employees including generous new Paid Time Off (PTO) program of 3 weeks PTO in year 1, 4 weeks in second year. Insurance options and a 401K that matches up to 4% with a 5% contribution.
