Job Title: Controls EngineerLocation: Onsite- Minneapolis, MNJob Summary:Our client is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to implement advanced Smart Building control solutions for clients. This role is pivotal in executing projects that deliver significant ROI for customers. You will collaborate closely with their field teams, customers, and various departments to ensure successful project installations. Key responsibilities include integrating diverse building control systems, leveraging HVAC/lighting and building automation knowledge to develop local stations, and mastering our client's business processes and tools.Essential Job Functions:Collaborate with the SBC Manager and Controls Engineering team to design and develop control systems for specific projects.Draft and develop installation and commissioning documentation for SBC programs and projects.Create point lists, sequences of operations, and other related documents.Program local stations to meet sequence of operations requirements.Develop and program BMS user interfaces.Perform system integrations using various protocols, including basic software.Ensure technologies are integrated and compliant with applicable standards.Communicate results to the Controls Manager and Controls Engineering team.Work collaboratively with the Controls team.Set high standards aligned with organizational goals.Stay updated on Smart Building Industry trends to position our client advantageously.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills and Abilities:Proficiency in A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.Familiarity with creating technical shop drawings, including riser diagrams.Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.Excellent technical and problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of industry best practices.Superior knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and hardware systems.Programming proficiency with Niagara-based systems, including N4.Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting.Experience in integrating computer programs.Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.Strong problem-solving capabilities.Curiosity and initiative in learning new technologies.Education:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Nice to Have:Experience with Niagara software and coding languages such as JavaScript and HTML.Knowledge of LED lighting, HVAC, and building management systems (BMS) operation.5+ years as a system engineer or system integrator with experience in at least one controls platform.5+ years in the building automation systems industry.5+ years of experience in HVAC Automation/Controls Engineering or Data Analytics.Expertise in leveraging IoT concepts and technology, building automation systems, and database programming.
