If you want to advance your career and contribute to our vision of creating healthier communities, now and for generations to come, we want you to be a part of our team.Job SummaryChildren's Memorial Hermann Hospital seeks a skilled Pharmacy Operations Manager to support our growing team on Evenings, Overnights and Weekends.Experience in a related Pediatric Hospital setting is highly desired.Residency training is preferred.This position will serve as an off-shift leadership presence for all of the TMC Pharmacy. Position will rotate on Evenings and Overnights as well as every other Weekend (Sat and Sunday).Ideal candidate will have Pharmacy Supervisory or PIC experience in an acute care setting; demonstrated experience leading large teams is preferred.Position is responsible for supervising designated Pharmacy department personnel and for filling and labeling prescriptions and providing drug-related information to inpatients and outpatients. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.Job DescriptionMinimum QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of PharmacyLicenses/Certifications:Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.Pharmacy Sterile Product certification through an in-house program or other accredited program required.Experience / Knowledge / Skills:Five (5) years of pharmacy experience required, two (2) of which as a hospital pharmacist.Previous pharmacy management experience preferred.Knowledge of unit dose and IV additives required.Requires ability to work with health care personnel associated with the Pharmacy department; ability to apply personnel policies and procedures; strong customer service skills; ability to develop and direct Pharmacy clinical and educational programs; ability to facilitate and lead work groups; and ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources.Requires knowledge of pharmacy and hospital computer systems and computer-assisted devices and familiarity with health care reimbursement environment.Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions; delivers on our brand promise of "Advancing health. Personalizing care" through compassion, courage, credibility, and commitment to community.Principal AccountabilitiesSupervises and manages the activities of all department employees in consultation with the department director, assuming responsibility in the director's absence.Fills/labels prescriptions, providing drug-related information to inpatients and outpatients according to the needs/age of the patient/patient population being served.Dispenses controller substances and supplies to nursing departments; conducts inventory and maintains appropriate inventory records; maintains the scheduling and preparation of IV solutions and additives; adheres to state and federal laws governing the practice of pharmacy, maintaining records as required.Maintains medication profiles and reviews for drug-related problems.At the director's request, represents the department at organization meetings.Performs other related duties as assigned.Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.Other duties as assigned.
