Position Summary:
The Content & Social Media Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing Jackson's Content & Social Media Department, while also providing social media content development and execution services to Jackson clients. They and their team bring our clients' brands to life on social media platforms through creative content development and tactical social media executions. The Content & Social Media Supervisor develops social media strategies to support the business objectives of our clients and directs the creation of content (visual and written) for social media. They are an expert on social media algorithms and platforms, and knows what content will resonate with followers. They know how to create written and visual content that is engaging but remains authentic to the brands we represent online. In addition to leading a team in this endeavor, the Content & Social Media Supervisor will be hands on for key agency clients, providing oversight and quality control of the team's output and engaging in executional tasks as needed, depending on team bandwidth and workload.
General Purpose:
Lead the social media team, provide social media strategies and content, deploy social media plans and tactics, and participate in broader Jackson initiatives

Essential Functions:
Leadership
Demonstrates confidence, authority, and level-headed decision-making as Jackson's leadership voice on social media
Stays abreast of social media trends, and actively communicates and makes application of these trends within Jackson, within our clients' businesses and within new business opportunities
Manages a team of social media professionals and fosters teamwork, respect and a constructive work environment
Provides team leadership that rewards productivity, client performance/satisfaction and servant leadership
Provides a model of project/team leadership (i.e. prepared, pro-active, thorough, accurate, fair, balanced and a willingness to do whatever is required)
Creates a working environment that encourages and supports a positive mindset about the work as well as the clients and Jackson staff-members involved
Ensures direct reports are following all procedures: financial, workflow/process, operational and client-related
Social Media Content & Strategy
Develops and executes social media plans, and ensures the team follows approved plan
Develops strategies for and manages all project work that supports and ties to annual social media plans, along with overall brand positioning and key messaging
Develops content to support social media executions, including written copy and visual imagery
Minor editing/formatting of visual imagery and video content for social media
Provides direction/shot lists to Creative Team, as needed, for large-scale creative content development (long form video, highly skilled graphic design work)
Deploys content on social platforms, either natively or utilizing 3rd party tools
Social media monitoring/listening
Engagement with social media followers
Creates and interprets analytics to support social media and content recommendations
Oversees project management and day-to-day activities for all social media clients
Engages clients for input and approval at key stages of plans, content calendars, copy, layouts, etc.
Knowledge of Clients, Their Business and Industry
Develops knowledge and actively seeks current information about clients' organizations, products, services, markets, consumers, industry trends and distribution networks
Understands and effectively communications the clients' brand tone and personality through written and visual social media content and deployments
Develops broad expertise and knowledge of our clients' industries
Fiduciary Responsibilities
Assumes and manages fiscal responsibility for client social media budgets
Monitors social media job costs and grows overall profitability
Works with Account Team to manage billing, forecasting and cancelled costs for social media clients
Enters daily record of billable time in accounting software
Assures that estimates are completed for all social media jobs
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or other related field
5 to 7 years of social media strategy and social media management experience, preferably in an agency environment
Experience developing content for B2B and B2C audiences
Experience managing social media for national or regional brands
Knowledge and technical proficiency of social media platforms and capabilities
Ability to capture and develop content via photography and videography
Experience with social media metrics tracking and reporting
Keen attention to detail, particularly when working with numbers, metrics, and analytics
Strong writing skills
Basic graphic design skills (specific to social media executions)
Basic video editing skills (specific to social media executions)
Ability to work efficiently under stress
Willingness to be on-call outside of normal business hours as social media needs warrant
Excellent, pro-active interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong time management, organizational and critical thinking skills
Ability to problem solve and think critically - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Able to follow direction and work with minimal supervision
Ability to read and comprehend instruction and correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other associates of the organization
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proactive, resourceful, quick learner, multitasker, strong team player with a strong work ethic

Preferred:
2-4 Years management experience
5+ years agency experience
Experience with Sprout Social, Meltwater and Klear social media tools
Experience with national or large regional brands
Motorsports, automotive and outdoor lifestyle industry experience
Travel:
Occasional, 10 - 25%
