**Description**

**LEAD TRANSPORTATION DRIVER**

Under supervision of the Transportation Manager and Lead, is responsible for maintaining vehicle (fleet) supplies, maintenance schedule, and accompanying documentation. Files, sorts, and uploads delivery manifests.

**PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Assist Transportation Lead as needed to plan and execute the scheduling of transportation to and from the center for program participants.

* Communicates appropriate information regarding participant tolerance while riding on the PACE vehicles and or other related concerns.

* Follows up with Transportation Lead appropriately on all Unusual Occurrences reported by the transportation staff.

* Assists the transportation staff in completing any necessary documentation logs concerning vehicle maintenance and or safety maintenance.

* Assures that all vehicles are kept in safe and satisfactory working order according to vehicle maintenance schedules.

* Performs other related duties as necessary, assigned or requested by Transportation Manager and Lead.

* Ensure timely distribution of medications to drivers and the DNW center.

* Ensure proper PreTrip inspections.

* Ensure timely vehicle Inspections.

* Communicate immediately and manage all real time unforeseen situations.

* Respond to vehicle breakdown and transfers.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

* High School diploma or GED required.

* Current CPR card requird.

* Must have excellent communication skills.

* Extremely organized and detailed oriented.

* Lead effectively under multiple and quickly changing situations.

* Three years work experience in related field and/or supervision/management of five or more staff.

* Must be capable of and experienced in transporting individuals with special mobility needs or ability to learn.

* Demonstration of progressive leadership ability is highly desirable.

* The ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or more.

* Must meet a standardized set of competencies (approved by PACE) before working independently.

* Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
