Responsibilities:

THE TEAM:

The FTO Analysis Team has end to end ownership of the AMD Products Process Technology. From pre-silicon to Volume Production, the goal is to provide AMD business with the most predictable, flexible, competitive, reliable and cost effective Foundry Technology.

THE ROLE:

The FTO Analysts is responsible for the Product Process Plan Of Record, CIP analysis and Product optimization from a Power/Performance/Device, Area, Yield and Reliability prospective. The Engineer acts has a focal point in interacting with foundry technical teams, both internally and externally, to identify, root cause, and implement corrective action opportunities. Analysts serves as a technical interface to internal cross functional teams (Product Engineering, Product owners, Business, Units, Design, Supply Chain,). Technology expertise, leadership and project management are key qualities to be able to influence both Foundries and AMD internal/external customers, and drive improvements in yield, Reliability and device performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set expectations for Foundry capability and drive the Foundry to meet the product requirements.
  • Optimize process/targeting and monitor process targeting for yield/performance.
  • Provide inputs for accurate Yield forecast by CIP analysis, submitting candidates for failure analysis from SCAN diag and Bitmap signals etc.
  • Lead reliability failures diagnosis and advocate for design and manufacturing improvements.
  • Improve process and product reliability by analyzing product design layout, Inline, WAT, Yield, FA and drive Foundry for process improvements as needed.
  • Technical interface with internal functional teams /external customers
  • Accountable for managing the Foundry technology through the different phases of the product technology.
  • Initiate significant changes to existing processes/ methods like improving existing Yield analysis methodology, new features in existing tools, debugging methods etc.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in advanced node semiconductor industry in one of the technical areas viz Process integration/Device/Reliability/Product/yield analysis engineering.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools like JMP for data analysis and ability to do data modeling/scripting is a plus.
  • Experience understanding inline, WAT, SORT, Yield diagnosis ~ Bitmap & scan diag data, reliability concepts, finding failure root cause and driving for solutions.
  • Strong in data analysis and technical program management skills.
  • Requires demonstrated technical expertise in the productization of advanced technologies.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentations skills.
  • Strong attention to details and an ability to learn on the job.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • A technology related Master's degree plus related experience (process technology and/or product development), or equivalent combination of training and experience.
