The Position:
Position Title: SAP Basis Specialist
Location: Hybrid; Remote Off-Site and On-Site (as required) in Middletown, PA
Duration: 36+ Month Project
We are seeking an SAP Basis Specialist to add to our team assisting the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) Information Technology (IT) Department. Project duration will be for a period of 36+ months. Work environment will be hybrid, primarily remote off-site with on-site presence as required; expected to be on-site for one week every six weeks.
This SAP Basis Specialist will play a critical role in managing and maintaining SAP landscapes; collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and performance of SAP systems.
Our SAP Basis Specialist will perform the following duties;
- Install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems; S/4HANA, CM, CC, etc.
- SAP Basis Administration; with expert knowledge of NetWeaver and S/4HANA
- Database Management; copies, backups, restores, performance tuning
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting; assess system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches
- Security and Authorization; implement security measures and user access controls
- Transport Management
- System Sizing; managing workload, modules, data volumes, concurrent users, anticipated growth
- Components; CPU, memory (RAM), storage, network bandwidth
- Tools; SAP Quick Sizer, EarlyWatch
- High Availability and Redundancy
- Cloud Hosting; and liaison with MS Azure architects and engineers
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior team members
The Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 4+ Year Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 7+ Years: Experience as an SAP Basis Specialist, Consultant
- Proficiency in SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, and Oracle/SQL databases
- Strong knowledge of system administration, transport management, and system monitoring
- SAP Certifications are highly desired
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
