Position: Customer Service Representative- Claims
Location: Buffalo, NY
Compensation: $30/hr
Role Structure: 5 days in-office during training period, Hybrid after training (3 days in-office). Equipment provided
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm ET, training hours may vary slightly M-F
Overview:
Avenica is currently evaluating talent for a Customer Service Specialist to assist with claims in the insurance industry. Great opportunities for long-term growth This person will handle information and process for workers' compensation claims, with thorough training on company systems and practices provided by the team. No insurance experience is required, but strong customer support and critical thinking skills are critical for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with duties related to initial investigation of a claim and registers claim information in the system.
- Verifies accuracy of information via coverage and policy information of the insured.
- Deals with agents, insureds, clients, and other customers through high-volume phone and email communication.
- Registers new loss information on the system and payments as needed.
- Performs file updates in the system
- Handles jurisdictional notices, payment of benefits, scheduling medical appointments, completion and filing of necessary forms.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of client or customer service experience with in a fast-paced environment required
- High volume phone and email experience/data entry required
- Required to obtain specific state licenses in first 6 months: costs supported by the company
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of an organization both internal and external.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated ability to provide consistent, superior service to customers.
